Our Curtains
Curtains have been around for centuries, and to this day they’re still evolving. That soft, fabric look is hard to replace with any other type of window treatment.
Working with homeowners across Singapore, from the many BTOs in Tampines to those in Tengah, one thing stands out: moving into a new space or revamping an old one usually starts at the window, and curtains play a big part in that decision. Living in a dense city like Singapore, privacy and cutting down noise from the surrounding environment and traffic are common concerns — especially for homes facing an expressway or a major road, which is a familiar problem here. These issues weigh heavily on how we decide, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re in an HDB flat, a condo, or a landed house — the concern is much the same. Beyond noise insulation and privacy, curtains also play a big part in light control and heat reduction through our humid, tropical weather all year round. As window coverings go, curtains are truly an all-rounder.
With the latest interior design trends in Singapore, Japandi and warm minimalist styles rely heavily on natural light and soft, organic textures, and curtains in earth tones fit right into that look. Ripple fold curtains, or S-fold curtains as some call them, use a special track that shapes the fabric into consistent S-shaped waves from top to bottom. The uninterrupted vertical lines this creates suit both design styles well. The one thing that puts many Singaporeans off curtains is the hassle of taking them down to wash and hanging them back up, on top of already busy schedules. That’s less of an issue now, though — steam cleaning vacuum machines can clean curtains in place, without needing to take them down and put them back up.
